Body Ready Birth FAQ
Is this a comprehensive childbirth preparation class?
This class is not a Childbirth 101 type of class. Consider this class a deep dive into the biomechanics of your pelvis, where you’ll learn how to optimize your movement in labor for a physiological birth. Your partner will learn hands-on ways to help bring you comfort and support you at every stage of labor.
Are there refunds?
Tickets are non-refundable. If you’re not able to attend the workshop you’ve enrolled in, we can move your tickets to a future workshop. If you’re not able to attend because your baby arrived early, please contact us.
What type of movements will we practice?
We want participants to get acquainted with different labor positions and build brain-body connections to make those positions easier to access (mentally and physically!) in labor. The base positions will be standing, sitting, side-lying, and kneeling. This is not an exercise class, and we will not be doing anything super strenuous.
What hands-on techniques will my partner use?
Your partner will practice ways to help bring comfort and support during labor. This will involve touching your back, glutes, hips, and legs.
What if I don’t have a partner?
Feel free to bring a friend or someone else who will be supporting you during your birth. If you don’t have anyone available, please let us know! We’ll have a doula available to partner with you.

Virtual Workshop FAQ

This workshop is a live event only. If you are not able to attend, please contact us to reschedule your workshop date.
What do I need for this class?
In addition to the recommended props listed below, you should have a reliable internet connection and access to Zoom.
What props should I have?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothes that you can move in and having snacks and water nearby. Feel free to snack during class! Additionally, consider having the following props nearby:
A yoga mat, or other comfortable surface
A yoga ball (see below for size recommendations)
A peanut ball, a bolster, or a couple of pillows
A yoga block, pillow, or a thick, sturdy book
A chair or stool
A rebozo or a sheet
A bath towel
What size yoga ball is right for me?
When sitting on a yoga ball, we want your hips and knees to both form nice 90° angles. For most people, the following recommendations will help you achieve neutral positioning on a birth ball. You may need to size up or down depending on your unique anatomy.
If you’re 5’ tall or shorter, use a 55 cm ball
If you’re 5’-5’9”, use a 65cm ball
If you’re 5’10” or above, use a 75cm ball
